Position Summary
The Operations Manager will ensure that the operations team is staffed, trained, motivated and working on tasks that support the success of DSL. This position reports to the Sr VP Operations.
What you’ll do:
– Recruits, hires, trains and mentors operations team members
– Ensures that budget targets are met
– Allocates resources to align the team with the objectives of DSL
– Co-ordinates and approves vacation and time off requests for the group
– Completes all necessary HR/EOS functions for the team: Same page meetings; Quarterly conversations; Annual reviews
– Launches, communicates and trains all company updates to the operations team
– Takes part in company meetings and communicates information to the operations team
– Works with other departments to improve communication and training
Daily Tasks:
– Supports the billing function as required to ensure budget targets and customer expectations are met
– Supports the Planned Services team as required to ensure budget targets and customer expectations are met
– Supports the CSR team as required to ensure customer expectations are met
– Supports the E-commerce and warehouse team as required to ensure budget targets and customer expectations are met
– Supports the HR Manager to ensure all recruiting, staffing and HR issues are dealt with appropriately
– Prepares for and participates in regular customer update meetings
– Prepares for and participates in regular company meetings
– Ensures good and proper communication with all direct reports according to EOS principles
What does success look like?
– A fully staffed, trained and well-functioning operations team is maintained
– All new DSL programs and systems are integrated smoothly
– Customer satisfaction metrics are consistently met
– Training materials are updated, maintained and readily available
– Budget targets are consistently met
– Management and communication functions follow EOS guiding principles
Position Requirements:
– Previous DSL experience must include exposure to any 2 of the following areas:
o Planned Services
o CSR
o Billing
o Parts
o Technician
o Sales
o Warehouse
o Dispatch
o IT/ E- commerce
o Accounting or Purchasing
o HR
– Previous experience in management functions is an asset:
o Interviewing and hiring
o Training and development
o Communication with groups including presentations
o Customer facing experience
o Budget responsibilities
