Serve-over or self-service, without changing equipment

Most hot food merchandisers lock you into one format. The Deli Switch’s retractable front glass turns the service counter into a self-service counter quickly, so you can adjust to traffic, staffing, and menu without a second piece of equipment. The glass construction has no supports on the customer side, which gives shoppers an unobstructed view of the food whichever way you run it.

Heat that protects your product

Gentle, humidified circulating air holds hot food at serving temperature without drying it out, with thermostatic control of the air temperature. Overhead infrared heating elements can be controlled independently, so different products can hold at different settings in the same counter.

Built to show food at its best

Modern LED lighting designed for product presentation can be controlled individually. Interior mirrored rear sliding doors double the visual impact of the food inside, and the silver-coloured counter body and superstructure fit a bright, modern deli or grocery hot counter.

Easy on staff, easy to clean

The cover glass opens for easy cleaning, and every unit ships with a cutting board on the operator side as standard. Rear sliding doors keep heat in and give staff quick access during service.

Frequently asked questions

What foods work best in the Deli Cube Merchandiser?

Fried chicken, ribs, roasted meats, hot vegetables, and prepared sandwiches and sides all hold well. The humidified convection system is designed to maintain serving temperature without drying product out, and per-section top heat lets you hold different foods at different settings in the same counter.

What size GN pans does it take?

The counter accepts standard GN containers up to 100 mm deep. Intermediate racks, additional GN pans, and flat stainless steel or granite shelves are available as accessories.

Can the Deli Switch be used for both serve-over and self-service?

Yes. That’s what the Switch is designed for. The front glass retracts to turn the service counter into a self-service counter, and closes again when you want staff serving from behind.

Who installs and services it in Canada?

DSL does. As the exclusive Ubert distributor in Canada, we handle installation, warranty service, OEM parts, and preventative maintenance from our locations in Edmonton, Calgary, Port Coquitlam, and Winnipeg. For Eastern Canada, our sister distributors handle installation and service on our behalf.

Can I see one running before I buy?

Yes. Contact us to arrange a hands-on trial and talk through which configuration fits your menu and counter space.

What sizes does the Deli Switch come in?

The Deli Switch comes in three counter widths, all with the same 1+1/3 GN depth. As the exclusive Ubert distributor in Canada, DSL can order any width in the line, and a matching base cabinet is available if you need a freestanding unit rather than a countertop installation. Tell us your counter space and menu, and our team will match you to the right size.
